Baltimore City Fire Department Receives FEMA Grant
to Offers Free Bed-Shaker and Strobe Lighting Smoke Alarms for Hearing Impaired

The Baltimore City Fire Department received a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to purchase bed-shaker and strobe lighting smoke alarm kits for hearing-impaired or deaf residents living in the City of Baltimore.

By purchasing the smoke alarms, this will enhance the department's ability to protect those residents who are hard-of-hearing or deaf in the event of a fire. Resident in need of the special accommodation should send an email to CESE at BCFD.CSPevents@Baltimorecity.gov.
