The Baltimore City Fire Department is hosting its second annual “Camp Spark” – a Fire Service Empowerment Camp for Girls. The FREE two-day camp will expose girls aged 12-16 to career opportunities within the fire service.
Camp Spark will be held on Saturday, June 29 | 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, June 30 | 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will be held at the Fire Academy | 6720 Pulaski Hwy.
If you want to engage in two days of fun and learning, then Camp Spark is for you! Campers will have the opportunity to gain leadership skills, participate in real-world firefighting experiences, focus on team-building, engage in hands-on Fire/EMS simulations and much more. There also will be opportunities to speak one-on-one with fire department members about their experiences and career preparation.

At the conclusion of Camp Spark (Sun. June 30), a brief graduation ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. to acknowledge the achievements of each camper. Parents, guardians, friends and family members are invited to attend.

As a public safety organization, the Baltimore City Fire department takes seriously the health and welfare of our employees, program attendees, and the community at large. As such, BCFD must strictly adhere to the immunization requirements currently required to enter Maryland schools. BCFD follows the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s requirements, as set forth in COMAR 10.06.04.03 – Required Immunizations, as guidance regarding required immunizations. Therefore, we require proof of immunization for each participant in the BCFD sponsored Camp Spark program.
